Risk, Reputation and Reality: ESG in the Supply Chain

Virtual Workshop, Saturday, November 21st 2026, 1pm to 5pm Eastern

Your cheapest supplier might be your most expensive mistake

Your supplier just cut their price by 8%. Great news, right? Until their labour practices make headlines, your customers start asking questions, and your brand takes the hit.
The stakes just got higher. Canadian companies above the thresholds must now report annually on forced and child labour under Bill S-211, with the CEO's name on the report. Greenwashing provisions in Bill C-59 carry penalties of up to $10 million or 3% of global revenue, and private parties can now sue over misleading environmental claims.

Think you're too small to worry? If you supply larger organizations, these requirements are already cascading down to you. Major Canadian buyers increasingly demand greenhouse gas data, supplier mapping and proof of ethical sourcing, and supplier agreements now often require ESG reporting and mitigation plans.

ESG isn't compliance theatre. It's the difference between a supply chain that protects your business and one that exposes it to million-dollar losses and lost contracts.

What to expect

A live crisis, not a lecture. You'll step into the role of Procurement Director with a tight deadline, a hard budget and a customer who tolerates zero defects. You'll make a real call with your team and defend it in front of the room. Then the situation changes, and so does what "best supplier" means.

The reason it matters now. Canadian law now makes "we didn't know" a risky thing to say. We'll cover what that means for your role, whether you're directly covered or a supplier being asked for proof by a bigger buyer.

Lessons from real failures. We'll look at what happened when well-known companies ignored their own supply chains, and what it cost them.

Tools you can use the Monday after. You'll leave with practical frameworks, templates and the numbers to make the case to your boss or your CFO.

A 30-day challenge. Four small actions, one per week, that need no budget and no approval. The goal is to start changing your supply chain before the month is out.

Who it's for

Procurement, supply chain and operations professionals at companies of any size, including anyone who has received an ESG questionnaire from a customer and wasn't sure where to start. No ESG background needed.
