About the book

Organizational Drift: A Field Guide for Senior Leaders explores how organizations can become better at living with weaknesses than removing them. When problems are repeatedly accommodated, worked around, or covered by extra checks and exceptional effort, performance can become increasingly difficult to rely on.

Drawing on patterns Gary has observed across his operational work, the Field Guide helps leaders recognize Organizational Drift, distinguish an event that exposes a weakness from the weakness itself, and consider a proportionate response. That is especially relevant now, as technology and AI initiatives, economic pressure, and market disruption can expose how much an organization depends on informal workarounds and individual effort.

The Field Guide is a practical, evolving resource for leaders across organizational settings. Members can access the current edition at OrganizationalDrift.ca.
